These lights are really cool - and I mean that both figuratively and literally. Even after burning for an hour, the incandescent bulbs were only slightly warm to the touch. And the bulb sockets are wired in parallel, which means if one bulb burns out, the others stay lit. There are dozens of ways the string lights could be used both indoors and outdoors wherever lights are needed. The most recent use that I saw was last Christmas at a Christmas tree lot, where they used light strings like this strung on poles to illuminate the area.
The bulbs are the G40 type with E12 bases. This is the same kind of bulb that many home chandeliers use and they're readily available online or in home improvement stores.
